Bad Applebox is Cody Ball, a guy whose first experience on a film set was an applebox giving him a serious splinter. Luckily the splinter didn’t deter him---he has established himself as a documentary filmmaker, and recently has stopped wearing protective gloves while handling appleboxes.
Cody directs, shoots, and edits a variety of documentary films and commercials. His ability to efficiently be run-and-gun, while maintaining a highly cinematic style of filmmaking has led him to work with clients such as US Navy, Red Bull, Special Olympics, Jose Cuervo, the LA Kings, Adidas, and Cleveland Golf. He has shot films in 23+ states, and 6 countries across 3 continents; it’s safe to say he has learned to handle the unexpected, and also knows you can find good ice cream ANYWHERE.
Cody’s influence comes in all shapes and sizes; from physical movement, to math-rock (or other not-so-standard music), to philosophy-spilling citizens on the streets. The wide variety of inspiration is part of what has led to projects known to incorporate a high level of creative detail in not only visuals, but also in sound, music, editing, and of course story.
Cody primarily works as a Director & Cinematographer of original & branded documentary at CLICKON Studios. When he's not in the studio, you'll probably find him playing with his band or attempting to learn a new sport.
