Bad Applebox is Cody Ball, a guy whose first experience on a film set was an applebox giving him a serious splinter. Luckily the splinter didn’t deter him---he obtained a BFA in Film from NYU Tisch, and recently has stopped wearing protective gloves while handling appleboxes.
Cody directs, shoots, and edits a variety of documentary films, commercials, and narrative shorts. His run-and-gun, cinematic style of filmmaking has led him to work with clients such as NAVY, Red Bull, Special Olympics, Jose Cuervo, the LA Kings, Adidas, and Cleveland Golf.
Cody’s influence comes in all shapes and sizes; from physical movement (yup--parkour), to math-rock (or other not so standard music), to philosophy-spilling citizens on the streets. The wide variety of inspiration is part of what has led to projects known to incorporate a high level of creative detail in not only visuals, but also in sound, music, editing, and of course story.
Cody primarily works as a Director & Cinematographer of original & branded documentary at CLICKON Studios. When he's not in the studio, you'll probably find him playing with his band or attempting to learn a new sport.
